welcome to the new and improved queensland fireball website This new website will provide you with all the information you will need to keep up-to-date with everything that is happening in Queensland. You'll find plenty of information about the 2004-05 Fireball National Titles being hosted by Lake Cootharaba Sailing Club. events calendar
about the class The Fireball is an international class sailed in over 20 countries world wide, and boasts World Titles, National Championships, State and Regional Titles that are contested every year. Whether you buy a brand new fibreglass construction hull or go for an amateur built plywood boat, the unique one design of the class means that all boats have the same competitive edge, and its the ability and teamwork of the two person crew that wins races. However, you don't need to be a professional sailor to compete. Many boats within the Queensland fleet are sailed by people in their 20s. For those starting out in the class there is also plenty of experienced Fireballer's around that will be more than happy to help set up your own boat. The International Fireball Association of Queensland (IFAQ) is based at Lake Cootharaba on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. We are only a small association but have close racing on a weekly basis and enjoy a great social atmosphere. where we sail The International Fireball Association of Queensland (IFAQ) is based at Lake Cootharaba on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. As a result of our juniors getting the mast they have competed in the recent QLD state titles and are keen to do some winter practice to get better for next season. Junk Yard Dog is being used as a stepping stone for the juniors going from vagabonds in the sailing school to more exciting sailing in the fireball. |
